What: This Art Class goes beyond a sip‑and‑copy paint event by offering a true cultural experience. Participants learn the basics of Japanese calligraphy, create an original haiku, and paint it onto a traditional scroll. It’s hands‑on, meaningful, and relaxing — a blend of real learning and creative fun that makes the experience genuinely unique.
Cost: This event is $40 per ticket, which includes a scroll to display your work in your home, one non-alcoholic beverage, and one dessert. You are welcome to BYOB! Additional non-alcoholic beverages and treats are available for purchase.
Kahori Kamiya is our special guest art teacher on August 18, 2026. Kamiya holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She has completed residencies at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) and Prospect Gallery, sponsored by Prospect City in Australia. Her work has been recognized with grants and awards from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Arts Westchester, Puffin Foundation, Hudson Valley MOCA, Center on Contemporary Art, and the Kitano Foundation. Her projects have received support from organizations including the Brooklyn Arts Council, Flux Factory, and the Arts Council of Rockland.
Kamiya’s New York debut solo exhibition, Long Eclipse, at Amos Eno Gallery in 2023 received critical acclaim from Hyperallergic, Art Spiel, and other publications. Her exhibitions include SPRING/BREAK Art Show, the 14th Media Art Biennale Alternative Now in Poland, the Dumbo Art Festival, the Pärnu International Film & Video Festival in Estonia, and Oculus Westfield World Trade Center in New York. Her works are held in public and private collections in Japan, the UK, Israel, Sweden, and the United States.Kamiya also has extensive experience teaching art classes and workshops, and she holds a certificate as a high school art teacher. She currently serves as a judge for the XC Creative Art Contest.

1. You may return or exchange any book or non book item in its original condition for a full refund (excluding shipping cost) within 7 days of receiving your order. Non Book items must also include all original tags and/or packaging.
2. Without a receipt/invoice, a return may be approved for exchange or store credit at the manager's discretion and only at the current value of the book. Please contact us for details.
3. For all returns/exchanges, the customer is responsible for costs of return shipping. We recommend you return your items using a insured and traceable method. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged during the return transit.
4. Special order items that are not usually carried and have been ordered specifically at your request may not be returned.
5. If you receive your order and find an item to be missing, incorrect or damaged please contact the store within 7 days, so that we may address and resolve the issue as quickly as possible for you.
